The International Journal of Irish Studies is not, in the strictest academic sense, a journal. Rather, the IJIS has been established – online -- to feature a global research data base with search engine; to incorporate, among other things, materials which will help radicalize Irish Studies by promoting South American and Asian/Australasian pieces – visuals, academic articles, miscellaneous snippets, etc. -- without excluding, in the process, longstanding research in Irish critical discourse. For the record, The International Journal of Irish Studies is broken down into ‘virtual' continents to better promulgate a diverse and divergent sense of Irishness in the 21 st Century. Anyone who would like to submit research (or other) materials, whatever their continental domain or domains, should contact Dr. James Mc Elroy, Department of English, The University of California, Davis CA 95616, for further information.
